A Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) is a key qualification for a professional flying career. An airline career takes that foundation further, with additional training, experience and licensing requirements.
This guide explains the difference between commercial and airline flying, what each pathway involves and how your training can progress.
Most flight schools bury their fees or quote CASA minimums that bear no resemblance to what you will actually pay. We do not.
A Commercial Pilot Licence is designed for pilots who want to fly professionally.
With a CPL, you can work towards commercial flying roles and continue adding ratings and qualifications as your career develops. However, a CPL does not by itself allow you to act as pilot-in-command of a multi-crew aircraft in air transport operations.
Develop the flying skills, aviation knowledge and decision-making required for commercial operations.
A CPL can lead into different areas of professional aviation, depending on your further training and experience.
Add further ratings, endorsements and experience as your career goals become clearer.
Think about the type of flying you want to do and whether an airline career is your long-term goal.
Add the ratings, advanced training and experience that match your chosen pathway.
