Most people arrive here asking which course is cheapest. It is a fair question, but it is the wrong first one. The better question is what you want to be doing in two years, because that decides which qualifications you need, and the qualifications decide the fee.
If you want to fly charter, you need a commercial pilot licence and an instrument rating. If you want to teach, you need a flight instructor rating on top. If you already hold a commercial licence and only need one piece added, you can study that piece on its own.
Below is every course we run, with the full fee, the flight hours you build and the time it takes. No "from" pricing and no packages that turn
out to cost more once you enrol.

Your instrument rating is flown in one of two aircraft, a Beechcraft Duchess or a Beechcraft Baron. That choice is the only difference between the two figures, and it is $11,000.
The Baron is the aircraft a lot of Australian charter operators run. Mark calls it the charter workhorse, and for plenty of our graduates it is the first aircraft they fly in a paid job. That is the whole argument for it.

Costs that are included:
We’ll confirm exactly what’s included in your fee when we talk with you, so nothing is unclear before you enrol.
If a cost is not on this page, ask us and we will let you know.
A VET Student Loan is available for all our courses.
Send an enquiry or ring us. We will talk through what you want to fly and whether the course you have picked is the right one.
We would rather you walked the hangar and met the students than took our word for any of this. Visits run on Friday mornings and finish at the barbecue.
$110, and we run it on selected Friday mornings at our Cowra campus. It tests the things flying actually asks of you. You need a minimum score of 3 in every section, plus an overall minimum.
Enrolment, and your VET Student Loan application if you are using one. We do this with you.

Lyn Gray, our Head of Operations, was named Flight Instructor of the Year by the Royal Aeronautical Society in 2018. Mark and Lyn are both CASA-approved examiners, so your flight test examinations happen here at Cowra. Theory exams are sat at the Orange exam centre.
I completed my Multi-Engine Instrument Rating at this college and found the training to be well-structured, focused, and professional. The environment supported growth, with instructors who truly cared about helping students become confident, capable pilots.

Charter Pilot
Having been to a few flight schools for various licences and ratings, Fly Oz has by far been the best experience on my Aviation Journey. All the staff are amongst some of the nicest, helpful and genuine people you’ll meet in Aviation who show the utmost respect and care for you and your training needs. They set a high standard for quality over quantity and produce highly competent and confident pilots in the industry through their ability to help you realise your potential in a positive training environment.

Charter Pilot
I’ve just completed my Design Features Endorsements (Retractable undercarriage & Manual Propeller Pitch Control) with Fly Oz. I cannot speak highly enough of the professionalism displayed from the CEO/owners down through to the office staff and the 3 instructors I dealt with (I have no doubt the others are just as brilliant given how the organisation is run).
