Recreational Pilot Licence Course

General Information

Fly Oz Recreational Pilot Licence course is the first step in your aviation journey. Right from your first lesson you will take control of a Piper Warrior aircraft, under the guidance of one of our highly trained instructors, who will guide you through the safe operation of an aircraft. Lessons will then build on these experiences until you are ready to fly your first solo circuit. This is usually attained between 10 – 15 flight hours and is one of the great lifetime achievements of any pilot.

Many students contact Fly Oz having come from other flight schools where they are lucky to fly once a week and they are frustrated with their lack of progress. At Fly Oz you will be allocated an instructor 1 on 1, 5 days per week for 2 flights per day. Our RPL syllabus is designed to be completed by students in 4 weeks full time. As a result your progress is greatly accelerated, providing you the opportunity to achieve your goals promptly. The course can also be completed on a part time basis and work with your individual schedule.

A Recreational Pilot license allows you to fly as pilot in command of an aircraft within 25NM radius of the departure aerodrome with a maximum of one (1) passenger. You will complete your first solo flight around 12-15 hours and have 5 hours solo prior to your flight test.

At the completion of this course you can move onto a Private Pilot License (PPL).
