Course Details

What is the AVI50419 Diploma of Aviation?

This qualification prepares you to step into the role of a Grade 3 entry-level flight instructor, combining advanced flying skills with the teaching techniques required to train new pilots with certain supervision requirements. This aviation diploma course is also included in the Instructor Ready package.

Course Inclusions – FIR with DFE and BIF

  • Ground briefings demonstrated to you, then practiced and delivered back by you
  • Theory classes for Principles and Method of Instruction (PMI) to prepare you for the CASA theory exam
  • Flight lessons in well-maintained aircraft with modern avionics, including the Piper Warrior and Cessna 206
  • Simulator training
  • Final flight test

To enable you to best plan your future, our FIR G3/DF course will be completed right on time, allowing you to plan for your future employment in the aviation industry.

Entry Requirements

  • Class 2 Medical Certificate
  • Aviation English ICAO Level 6 or IELTS 6.0 (International students must provide a current English Language Assessment with their application)
  • Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Aviation Reference Number (ARN)
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Hold a commercial pilot licence

Volume of Learning

This will vary depending on the level of your qualification, experience, and competency. As per the Australian Quality Framework, students must complete the allocated hours for the qualification they are undertaking to achieve competency. If you apply for Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer, the volume of learning may be reduced.

Course Structure

This course is structured to ensure that students receive adequate training in AVI50419 Diploma of Aviation (Grade 3 Flight Instructor).
